Deepawali Luxmi-Ganesh Poojan Vidhi

The festival of Deepawali is celebrating on 26 oct 2011, you should perform this pooja in Vrish lugna.
Lakshmi Ganesh Puja is the most significant aspect of Diwali celebrations in India. Hindus observe the elaborate Lakshmi Ganesh Pooja with devotion and sincerity. It is believed that by propitiating Goddess Laxmi on the auspicious Diwali night one is blessed with riches and prosperity.
On the day of Diwali people celebrate the birth of Goddess Lakshmi or the Goddess of Wealth hence Lakshmi Puja is an integral part of Diwali celebrations. Hindu businessmen regard the day of Diwali as New Year's time. They start new account books on this day and seek blessings from Goddess Lakshmi.
Lakshmi is the goddess of light, beauty, good fortune and wealth. While Laxmi is generally worshiped to achieve success, she does not reside long with anyone who is lazy or desire her only as wealth.

While preparing for Laxmi Ganesh Pooja utmost stress is laid on the cleanliness. People sincerely believe that Goddess Laxmi visits the cleanest houses first. After ensuring that the house is spotlessly clean, lamps are lit all round to guide the path of the Goddess of Wealth. Colorful Rangolis are also drawn in front of the house to welcome the Goddess. There is also a tradition to worship broom on this day as it helps to clean the house. Puja room of the house is also cleaned properly to make it fit for the Diwali Lakshmi Puja.
Devotees believe that Goddess Lakshmi visit everyone during Diwali and brings peace and prosperity to all.
Oil lamps are kept burning throughout the night. This is believed to guide the path of the Laksmi Ma who is said to arrive secretly at night. Puja
Traditional Pooja items include new Vigrah of Ganesh, and new idol (murti) made of silver or gold) of Lakshmi, Photo or murti of Maa Kaali,Inkpot, Pen, kalash, roli, mouli, Silver coins, rice grains, kumkum for tilak, betel leaves and betel nuts, incense sticks,Dhoop, Durva, Tulsi leaves, Punchamrat(mixture of milk, dadhi, ghee, hunny,sugar), camphor, Red flowers, garlands. For offerings and prasad, sweets and fruits are needed.


Lakshmi was the daughter of the sage Bhrigu and took refuge in the ocean of milk when the gods were sent into exile. Lakshmi was reborn during the Churning of the Sea. As soon as the gods saw Lakshmi, they all fell in love with her beauty. Lord Shiva her hand was given to Vishnu, whom Lakshmi herself preferred.

Start the pooja with this process-
Spread a new cloth on a raised platform: Place a handful of grains in the center and, on this, place a kalash made of gold, silver, copper, or Steel. Fill of the kalash with water and place a betel nut, in the front of your left hand side, a flower, a coin, and some rice grains in it. Arrange five kinds of leaves or mango leaves in the kalash. Place a small dish on the kalash and fill itt with rice grains, A Nariyal (with water)place on the kalash, Light a lamp and begin the puja by offering haldi, kumkum, and flowers to the platform on which the kalash is placed. Then offer haldi, kumkum, and flowers to the water that is to be used for the puja. Invoke the river goddesses to be part of this water.
than perform the pooja of this kalash with roli, chandan pushp, dhoop-Deep, and navaidhya.

After than Ganesh Pujan (Ganeshji are a must for Diwali pujan. Ganeshji should be worshipped in all pujas before any other god or goddess. He is the Lord of Wisdom and the remover of obstacles. by reciting Ganesh mantra-
“om Vakra tund mahakaya suryakoti sumprabh,
Nirvighanam kuru me deva, Sarva karyeshu sarvda.”
Also place ink and books related to your business or occupation on the platform.


Than a lotusflower place in the left side of kalash or make lotus by rice and Haldi powder than place the idol of maa Luxmi on it in the right side of Ganesha,

Invoke goddess: Lakshmi by reciting the Vedic mantras addressed to her. One can also recite the mantras mentioned in the Puranas or simply take some flowers in your hands, close your eyes, and think of goddess Lakshmi being showered with gold coins by two elephants standing on either side of Her (Gaj luxmi svaroop)and chant Her name. Then offer the flowers to the idol.

Place the idol of Lakshmi in a plate and bath it with water, panchamrit (mixture of milk, Dadhi, ghee or clarified butter, honey, and sugar) and then with water containing some gold ornament or a pearl. Wipe the idol clean and place it back on the her Asna. OfferRed cloth (Sari, and 5 other cloth with golden shining), Offer sandal paste, saffron paste,Roli, some rice, itr , haldi, kumkum, abeer, and gulal to the goddess. Offer flowers,should be red color lotus is best, especially the marigold flowers and leaves of Bel. Light an incense stick and dhoop. Make an offering of sweets, coconut, fruits, and tambul-ela-pungifalam. Make an offering of puffed rice and batasha. Pour some puffed rice, batasha, coriander seeds, and cumin seeds over the idol.
After than If you have a Shree Yantra made on a silver or copper, it should be prantishthit with mahaluxmi mantra, worship this yantra with very consontration with same process with red flower red sweet, dhoop-deep navaidhya etc.

Than You should need a Deepawali Yantra (Pran-pratishthit) and a Nav Garah Yantra (also pran-pratishthit), and worship the both Yantra same process.

After this pooja perform the aarti of Ganesh,Maa luxmi and also lord Vishnu(om jai jagdish hare). And –
Mata luxmi ki jai;
Lord Vishnu ki jai;
Dharam ki Jai ho;
Adharm ka naash ho;
Satya ki jeet ho,.
Karpoor gauram karunaavtaram sansar saaram bhujgendra haaram,
Sada vasantam hardyarvindam, bhavam bhawami sahitam namami.
